For the past couple weeks I have been following the blog of Layla Grace. I was introduced to her by my friend Mary who was introduced to her by another friend, etc, etc. Her story has touched so many people. She had stage 4 Neuroblastoma, she had been fighting for her life for the past year and this morning she lost her battle. Her parents sent out a message through twitter...
"Layla went to play with the angels early this morning. Rest in peace precious Layla. 11/26/2007 - 3/9/2010"
I find it hard to describe why I feel so emotionally attached to this little girl, I have never met her or her family. Only read words about her, saw pictures of her online and heard her giggle on videos posted. Maybe its because she reminds me so much of my own daughter, maybe its because she was such an innocent little girl.
Layla taught me so many things and I did not even meet her...life is truly to short to worry about the small stuff, don't take anything for granted and one day you can go play with angels.
Rest in peace sweet Layla. You will never be forgotten.
