Tag I'm It!

I was tagged by Mary who was tagged by Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. I think it sounds like fun so here we go!

1. What’s your favorite movie?

I know it's a holiday movie, but I could watch this year-round...The Santa Clause.  I have no idea why...I just love that movie!
2. If you had one day to yourself to do whatever you wanted, what would you do?

If I also had an unlimited budget, I would go shopping all day, I am in need of a new wardrobe!  But since I do not have that, I would say just relax!  Get cozy with a good book and maybe watch my favorite movie :)

3. What kind of vehicle do you drive?

I drive a Chevy Equinox, in a lovely shade of blue.  When my hubby is home and we feel like saving a little gas we drive his car, a Dodge Caliber.  Also a pretty shade blue :)

4. What’s your favorite food?

My absolute favorite meal is pot roast, specifically from Rock Woods restaurant, it has steamed veggies, mashed potatoes and of course pot roast!.  My grandma used to make a mean pot roast too, I am sad I didn't get her recipe :(

5. What are you most thankful for in your life?

My family, our health and happiness.  Things may not be perfect right now, but we are together, we are healthy and happy.  Things always work out right?

6. Why do you blog?

To kept track of things I might otherwise forget.  To keep in touch with friends and family, who are not close enough to visit.  Something to do after Olivia goes to sleep!

7. What was your favorite childhood toy?

I loved my purple big wheel...they just don't make them like they used to!  I rode around on mine until I wore out the tires!

8. What’s something you get really excited for that others may think is really weird?

I get overly excited for a good deal...no joke I might even get excited if I save $1.00.  Not the weirdest thing though.

September is not my favorite...

The month of September did not start out as nice as I would have liked nor does it seem to be ending very nice! I have had a few more gallbladder "attacks", big bummer! I have an appointment with my doc to follow up on that, so hopefully we can figure something out.  And yesterday I was cutting watermelon, Richard specifically told me not to but myself, then about five minutes later...yep I cut my finger.  It was bleeding ans bleeding and bleeding a little more...so we decided to go to urgent care just to be safe.  Did you know urgent care closes at five on Saturdays?  huge bummer, so we decided to go to the ER...of course after I was checked in I felt all silly, because then it had stopped bleeding and really didn't seem that bad. The doctor did want to give me stitches, but at that point I wanted to leave, so she said we could also glue it but I can't bend it so I would have to wear a splint for a week :(  All in all I know things could be a lot worse so I am grateful, I am healthy besides a bum finger and a mad at me gall bladder :)

I will leave you with Olive and her buddy Jacey!

Calm, Cool, Crisp...

That is what the weather was like today...calm, cool, crisp.  I brought out one of little miss O's fall jackets and did she look dang cute!

She kind of let me take a few pictures....

Later on we went to a parade in town with our friends, Crystal & Mackenzie, I didn't really get too many pictures of the parade.  I was too busy making sure Olive wasn't scared of the sirens on the fire trucks, that she wasn't getting smacked with candy being thrown at her, or choking on any of said candy!  But I did get this one where it looks like Mackenzie and Olive are intensely looking at something...but I think hugs were being given :)

What do you think??

I am slowly but surely fixing up my blog...myself!!  I know I said it before for one that I am fixing up my blog (sorry if its boring for you but I am super excited!) and two that Libby over at the bonjour family has helped me out a ton and I can not thank her enough for pointing me in the right direction....so thank you again!  Head on over to her site she has some great tutorials to snazzy up your blog!

But what do you think??  I am loving it so far!  I am probably going to redo the header again to bring a bit more color in, cause I think I am going to leave the "body" of the blog white, because I like the simpleness of it!

In the future I think I am also going to make a photoblog...to probably take over for my photo website...that would save a nice amount of money for the fee I pay every year, since the blog would be free!!!  But I am not going to get ahead of myself, I still have a few months before my contract would need to be paid...so I can start slowly working on it!

Way Back Wednesday!

I was looking through Olive's baby pictures and saw this one...she use to laugh and smile at the little dragonfly for hours.  Crazy how fast she has grown up.

State Fair 2010...

Every year I look forward to the State Fair, for the food, the sights and to look at new cars (not sure why, maybe the new car smell and you don't get sales people asking if you want to buy it :)

Lets start with a food picture....

Olive chose to eat an apple, she was the healthy one!
She didn't want anything to do with the pronto pup hat.  She had a great time people watching, looking at animals (kind of :) and eating a few goodies!

She thought the tractors were pretty fun!

My dad came with us, my mom decided not to go this year.  So it was me, Richard, my dad and Olive.

When we were ready to leave we started heading back to the parking lot....and we saw a few clouds that looked a little interesting.

And this is what happened...

We had a lot of fun, ate a lot of food, had a good time!  Until next year!  And the State Fair usually means the end of summer is near...but I love the fall :)  Can't wait for sweatshirt weather.

On another note...
It is September 11th...I can not go without saying this day will not be forgotten.  Praying for the friends and family of the survivors and the men and women that protect us every day.

Random Fact...

Olive does not like to fall asleep with blankets on her....instead pillows.  (and no I do not cover her with pillows, suffocation hazard!  She neatly lays one pillow on herself leaving her head uncovered, of course I exchange the pillow for a blanket once she is sleeping :)  Once I get a good picture I will share!

Recent Events

Since I had Olivia I have been telling myself "to get back on the program,"  well because of a few recent events I really need to do just that.  One week ago was my birthday, I did not have any plans to really do a whole lot.  But I guess someone else had plans for me.  Around 5AM I woke up feeling really blah, thought maybe I had heartburn or stomach pains, but it just keep getting worse, it almost started feeling like chest pains.  It was a whole lot of NOT fun.  To make my story a lot shorter than it could be, both my mom and Richard agreed that I should go in to the ER, four hours in the ER and one shot of drugs that knocked me out hardcore....they couldn't definitively say what was the matter.  My brother knew though, he had gone through this same thing 7 times before...gallbladder attacks.  Great.
After I left the hospital I felt groggy but fine.  Thinking well, now what.  I knew what I needed to do, change my diet.  But it just so happens that we had planned to go to the state fair the day after my birthday....how could I pass up cheese curds and mini doughnuts!  I paid for it...after reading about foods to avoid, fatty highly processed foods is on the top of the list.  And guess what, I had another "attack" yesterday.  I did not want to go in and rack up another medical bill because God knows we don't need that right now.  So I waited it out...wow, some of you know that I had Olivia by c-section because she was breech, I never felt labor pains, but if they were anything like this...no thank you!  Four hours into the pain it finally started to go away.  Now its time for me to make a change, eating and diet wise.

Onto happier subjects!

More on the state fair later!

Woohoo!

I had been in a blog slump lately...partially due to my dislike of my blog design so I decided to really try to design one myself.  I contacted Libby from the bojour family because I just love her blog, to see if she was a DIY'er of designing her blog.  She was kind enough to get back to me saying she ran across a gal who is doing a tutorial on how to design your blog yourself (she was going to write up a post herself, but just so happens someone was already planning on it)!!  Mandy from Mandy's Yellow Corner is on post 3 out of 7 on how to design your blog!  I am following her posts and you may notice my blog changing the next couple of days!  I am already really excited about it! I made up a new quick header, but knowing me I am bound to change it in a week or two :)
